The sheer variety of golf courses in North Devon must be seen to be believed.

There are ten golf courses within a 30 minute drive of The Mount, including the championship courses at Saunton, Ilfracombe and the Royal North Devon at Westward Ho! (the oldest links in England).

The views are stunning and the courses challenging; there is also a driving range and a number of golf courses where you don't need a handicap certificate.

There are a number of golf courses around North

Barnstaple.

1) Portmore Golf Park – Landkey Rd, Tel: 01271 378378 –
just a 15 min journey out of Bideford.
2) Mortehoe and Woolacombe Golf Club, Easewell Farm,
Mortehoe, Woolacombe, Tel: 01271 870566 – about a half hour
drive away from Barnstaple, situated just outside Mortehoe.
3) Ilfracombe Golf Club, Hele Bay, Ilfracombe, Tel: 01271 862176. Although a 30 minute journey from Barnstaple, it is only a 5 minute drive out of Ilfracombe.
4) Slightly south of Barnstaple you will find Libbaton Golf Course, nr High Bickington. This 6500 yardage course hosts 475 members and is set in within the heart of the North Devon country.
